Our Burger Tour last night took us to a lovely little spot called Toro Bravo which is a Spanish inspired tapas restaurant. The restaurant is small but really lovely. We went on a Tuesday night around 6 and were lucky enough to quickly get into a table for 4.
We all had the House Bacon and Manchego Burger which landed the number 4 spot on the Oregonian List (maybe even higher than that on ours!). We consider this burger a Tier 1 burger. When I first tasted it I was impressed with the spice rub that they prepared the meat in. This burger, unlike most of the others, was cooked well rather than medium or medium rare. The bun was soft and buttery and had house bacon, amazing romesco sauce (Romesco is a nut and red pepper-based sauce from Tarragona, Catalonia, Spain) and house-made sweet pickled veggies. Toro Bravo didn't have fries as an option so we started our meal with Potatoes Bravas, which is a Spanish potato dish. They were chunks of potatoes seared on the outside with a really flavorful spicy tomato and aioli sauce.
We all really enjoyed Toro Bravo and want to go back for traditional Tapas soon! Our ratings are below.
